Gowna GFC Club Notes

U-12 Team
The U-12's recently took part in the Spring League. The teams in their group were Ballymachugh, Cuchulainns, Laragh, Killygarry and Lavey. They beat all the teams in their group, showing some promising talent for the future.
They also took part in the U-12 Blitz in the 3G pitch on Monday May 6th. They played well in their group and all players got a run-out on the day. The results of this blitz will determine the division grouping for the U-12 Summer League which starts on the 13th June.
Gowna schoolboys took part in the school blitz in the 3G pitch on Wednesday 1st May. They gave a great performance and had some good wins.
Well done to all the payers and trainers and the best of luck in the summer league.
Senior League
There were no games this weekend as the Gowna pitch was not playable. The next Senior game is Friday the 24th of May in Killygarry at 8pm and Ballyhaise Sunday the 26th at 2pm in Gowna.
Junior League
The Junior's had no game again this weekend. They have only three league games left. There next game is against Killygarry on Wednesday the 22nd of May at 8pm in Killygarry.

Irish News Club and Volunteer Awards
Gowna GFC entered the Irish News Clubs and Volunteers Awards which was in Belfast last Friday. Gowna got highly recommended Small club Award and received a cheque for £500 sterling. The club would like to thank Niamh Boylan who entered Gowna into the competition and filled out the application which consisted of 1000 words or less on all aspect of the club and what it does for the community.
American Tea Party
Gowna GFC is hosting an American style tea party in the Pikers Lodge on Sunday the 2nd of June starting at 8pm. A person will host a table and they will provide sandwiches and cakes for their table and the Pikers Lodge will provide the tea. It is €100 per table with 10 people at each table.
Cavan vs Armagh
Cavan play Armagh in the Ulster SFC preliminary round at Kingspan Breffni Park next Sunday the 19th at 2pm. We wish Mark McKeever and the rest of the Cavan team the best of luck. We also wish Gary Donohoe (Manager) and Seamus McCabe (selector) the best of luck with the Cavan Minors who play Armagh in the Ulster Minor Championship at 12.15pm before the Senior game.
CLUB MEMBERSHIP
Club Membership is due and is 20 euro and can be paid to Seamus Halton.
