Seniors

Our Seniors take on Swanlinbar in Round 3 of the Intermediate Championship this Friday August 16th in St.Aidan's Park, Bawnboy.

Reserves

Belturbet travelled to Mountnugent on Sunday last in the Division 3 Reserve Championship Quarter Final and came away with an impressive 3-21 to 3-8 victory.
Mountnugent scored a goal with the first play of the game but the Rorys quickly settled into their stride. The running game and accurate finishing were evident throughout from Belturbet and they had a vast array of scorers. Conor Vaughan was again on top form with the boot scoring a high tally of points in the first half with Colum Dennehy, Evan O’Reilly, Mark Tully and a couple of excellent Gareth Fitzpatrick points completing the scoring. The first half goalscorer was a toss up between Conor and Evan as to who claimed the goal. The midfield pairing of Mark Teevan and Sean Og Lawlor were first class spaying great balls into the forward line and Sean Og was absolutely cleaned out of the game on the stroke of half time by the Mountnugent midfielder which resulted in a straight red card being issued. Belturbet with a huge half time lead and a man advantage continued to keep the scoreboard ticking along in the second half. Jack O’Callaghan, Conor, Jason O’Reilly, Colum, Mark Tully and Sean Og all raised white flags with Niall Lawlor who was between the posts also bombing up the pitch to score a point.
The second half goals came from the boot of Jason O’Reilly who roofed his shot into the top corner of the Mountnugent net and Patrick O’Reilly whalloped a fine strike to the back of the net to put extra late gloss on the scoreboard and rubberstamp a thirteen point win.
Belturbet: Niall Lawlor, Sean Grogan, Ronan Cahill, James McCaffrey, Mark O’Reilly, Jack O’Callaghan, Mark Teevan, Sean Og Lawlor, Evan O’Reilly, Mark Tully, Colum Dennehy, Conor Vaughan, Gareth Fitzpatrick. Subs introduced: Jason O’Reilly, Patrick O’Reilly, Ronan Vesey, Brian Wallace, Shane Lawlor, Killian Teevan.
