Corduff GAA, Monaghan.

Ulster Schools GAA is set to investigate a serious incident which occurred during a MacRory Cup game last Friday.

A Cavan student remains in hospital in Dublin following the off-the-ball incident which took place during the game between St. Patrick's College, Cavan and Patrician High School, Carrickmacross in Corduff. The player was airlifted from the pitch to Tallaght Hospital after receiving medical treatment from a doctor at the scene.

The incident wasn’t witnessed by the referee and no action was taken against any player.

It's understood that Gardai in Carrickmacross are investigating the incident, while Ulster Schools GAA secretary Seamus Woods said they would be launching their own probe next Monday.

"The Ulster Schools body has a long and honourable record in overseeing schools football and we are rightly proud of this. No stone will be left unturned. We will act accordingly and appropriately after we have completed our probe," he told the Belfast Telegraph.
