Football Update

Well done to the Cornafean Ladies Amy McIntyre, Deirbhile McCaffrey, Aine Brady, Hazel Sheridan and Edel Brady who are all part of the Lough Oughter Minor Ladies squad who scored a fine victory over Armagh Champions Clann Eireann in the Ulster Quarter final played in lurgan on Sunday last.  We wish the team and management all the very best in the upcoming Ulster Semi Final.

Wishing our U17 Ladies loads of luck in their Championship Final down for decision on this Sunday 18th November against Kingscourt.  Time and venue to be decided so please keep an eye on club texts and facebook.

 

Scór na nÓg

Cornafean will be represented in first round of Scór na nÓg in Milltown Community Centre on Saturday next 17th November at 3pm. All our young members have been practicing diligently over the past couple of months and all support is appreciated.  Results of first rounds will be announced in St Joseph’s Hall Ballyjamesduff on Sunday 18th November.  Best of luck to all competitors.  

Scór County Final: will be held on Sunday 25th November at 3pm in Stradone Community Centre.

 

Juvenile Fund Raising Quiz night in McSeains on 23rd November @ 8.30pm. 

All parents, family and friends are asked to show their support on the night as this is the only fund raising event of the year for our young players.

 

Fun In The Fresh Air

Commences Monday 5th November in Cornafean GAA Grounds

Takes place on Mondays and Wednesdays 7 - 8 p.m.

Everyone welcome age 8+ to keep fit and join in the fun.

Circuit Classes

Continues every Tuesday in Cornafean 8 to 9 p.m. suitable for males and females of all ages and abilities.  €7 per class.  Don't put it off until after Christmas, get out and get fit now for a healthier heart, body and mind.

 

Sympathy ..Kathleen Keegan nee Brady

Sincere sympathy is extended to the Keegan and Brady families on the sudden passing of their beloved Kathleen, Bruce Hall during the week.  Kathleen will be greatly missed by her loving family and many friends and of course her patients, many of whom she lovingly cared for in her own home over the past number of years.  Kathleen's funeral mass took place in the Sacred Heart Church, Arva on Thursday with internment afterwards in Coronea Cemetery.  May she rest in peace.

 

Killeshandra CCE next session will be in the Lough Bawn Hotel on Saturday 17th November.  Every welcome to join in.

 

Community Concert

Killeshandra Community Council present Raglan in concert on Saturday 17th November at 8.15 p.m. in Killeshandra Community Hall supported by Killeshandra Comhaltas Group.  Doors open at 7.30 p.m. and tickets are available in K.C.C. Resource Centre and in local outlets.  Please support.

 

Singing For Pleasure

Mullahoran Parish Hall commences on Thursday 15th November at 7 p.m.

Forget all your troubles and sing, sing, sing.  No experience necessary.  Everyone welcome.

6 week term supported by CMETB.  Please bring your PPS number.  Over 18 years.

Course is free.  €3 each week to cover hall rent and heat.

Saturday Morning Training

Underage training on Saturday morning has now finished for 2018.  Thank you to all children and parents who turn out every Saturday morning diligently practicing and training to ensure the future of Cornafean GFC and a huge thank you to the underage coaches and mentors who selflessly give off their time to progress the young kids in their future football careers.

 

Ladies Minor Ulster Quarter Final 

Clann Eireann (Armagh) 5 - 7   Lough Oughter Gaels  7 - 10

Well done to the Lough Oughter Gaels Minor Ladies on their hard fought quarter final victory over Clann Eireann from Lurgan on Sunday last.  Our amalgamation side turned a six point half time defecit into a nine point victory and Reds ladies Aine Brady, Aimee McIntyre and Deirbhile McCaffrey certainly played their part in a deserved win.  Next up for the team and management is an Ulster Semi Final in two weeks time.

 

U17 Ladies Final

Wishing the girls and their management team they very best of luck in their final against Kingscourt on this Sunday.  Time and venue to be confirmed.
