Holders Galway scraped over Clare at the second attempt and now have an All-Ireland SHC final date with Limerick to look forward to. Check out our team of the week...
1. James Skehill (Galway)
His 68th minute save from Aron Shanagher was a pivotal moment in the semi-final replay.
2. Adrian Tuohy (Galway)
Tuohy and the Tribesmen are 70 minutes away from back-to-back Liam MacCarthy Cup triumphs.
3. David McInerney (Clare)
The Banner County full-back gave it his all but he and his team-mates just came up short on this occasion.
4. Daithi Burke (Galway)
The influential Burke restricted his direct opponent John Conlon to just one point from play.
5. Conor Cleary (Clare)
Joe Canning and Conor Whelan provided him with plenty of food for thought but Cleary kept battling away.
6. Padraig Mannion (Galway)
Took over the centre-back duties in Gearoid McInerney's absence and did his 'Hurler of the Year' credentials no harm at all.
7. Joseph Cooney (Galway)
Moved to the unfamiliar surroundings of the half-back line, he did a good job in curbing the aerial threat posed by Peter Duggan.
8. Colm Galvin (Clare)
Deployed as a sweeper, once again, but not as effective this time around when it came to setting attacks in motion.
9. David Burke (Galway)
The Galway captain is a lucky to be eligible to play in the final after his late foul on Shanagher threatened to spoil an otherwise exemplary performance.
10. Peter Duggan (Clare)
Was uncharacteristically wayward with a late free but scored a goal and also found the target six times from placed balls.
11. Joe Canning (Galway)
When the game was very much in the melting pot, the 'Hurler of the Year' stood up and was counted for his team.
12. Conor Whelan (Galway)
Was a constant thorn in the side of the Clare defence and sent over three points.
13. Padraic Collins (Clare)
Produced a much-improved performance from the drawn game and got through a lot of good work.
14. Jonathan Glynn (Galway)
Went toe-to-toe with David McInerney and his 20th minute goal helped establish a 1-9 to 0-7 lead for his team.
15. Shane O'Donnell (Clare)
O'Donnell led the Clare comeback with a superbly engineered goal eight minutes into the second-half.
