Mullinalaghta should be favourites after last year's encounter.
If I remember correctly Eire Og defended deeply in the first half and Mullinalaghta kicked several points from 35/40 yards out and were out of reach by HT.
Eire Og had been celebrating up to the Wednesday last year.
I think we will see a different performance from E Og this time.
Would go for a 4 point victory for Eire Og

Eire Og are 5/2 and Mullinachta are 2/5 with Paddy Powers. Rank outsiders to win Leinster at 16/1. A big ask to win on Sunday.

It is a big ask, particularly when they have to play away.

Odds sound about right, but you'd never know.

Best wishes to Éire Óg tomorrow, hopefully they'll get the job done and we'll have another team in a Leinster final following on from Old Leighlin ladies success a few weeks ago

They seemed to have had an off day today. Longford champions would not be exactly be one of Leinster's top sides.

They had an off day alright... Eire Og need to have a long, hard look at themselves as a club... the carry on yesterday was terrible....

A bit of a disaster yesterday. What can go wrong did go wrong. It's never easy in Leinster and when you get three men sent off you are giving yourself no chance. Young Dunphy slapped the Mullinaachta player and had to go. Blake was unfortunate to get two yellows. Robbie Moore hit their forward out of frustration and had to get a straight red. Eire Og were actually on top for the first fifteen minutes and should have had a few scores on the board. The Longford champions were clinical however and once they got a couple of points ahead the writing was on the wall. Once Eire Og went down to twelve men the floodgates opened. A harsh lesson for a young team. They will learn from it and come back stronger next year I would think.

I think the style Eire og plays works well in Carlow as most teams play a more open brand of football that struggles against the negative brand Eire og plays but as soon as that style meets a good team it is easily dismantled, Eire og have some fine footballers there is no need to play in such a way and whilst it is good enough to win Carlow SFC it will never be good enough to win a Leinster, it was certainly not a good sign for Carlow club football that a team from a county we would expect to be on a par with can annialate out back to back champions

From what I believe, the team which beat them yesterday is only a half parish with just over 350 adults in their parish. So much for advocating that Dublin's success is down to their large population.

This should give clubs in Carlow a boost to show they can beat Éire Óg and stop using the 'population' excuse

Old Leighlin has won three Carlow titles in the past decade. And they are not even a half parish (a third of a parish)... so your point?

Eire Og are one of the kingpins of Leinster football over the years but to be beaten by 18 points by one of the lesser lights is a massive blow to them.

Can anyone explain what happened?
3 points scored, 3 men sent off, lost by 18 points???
Disappointing end to a great year for carlow football.
Longford don't have a great record in club football.

Astonished by result. The first time a Longford club reached a Leinster final. By all accounts a small pool of players to pick from. After gaining promotion and having the good run in the championship, you would have expected more from one of their premier club teams

You must be easy to astonish jackl, same result as last year only a round later.

When Carlow senior footballers beat Kildare on a score line of Carlow 2-14 Kildare 1-10 in the leinster senior football championship last May, Kildare people and further afield asked the same question, "Can anyone explain what happened? After all "Carlow would not be exactly be one of Leinster's top sides." They were only a wet day out of div.4 and Kildare a wet day out of div.1, that result gave Kildare the kick in the arse they needed and a chance to prove themselves of better things in the qualifiers / back door, and they did right up to and including the super 8's.
Eire Og on the other hand are in a similar position to what Kildare was, Pro-Rata, one important difference being though, Eire Og don't have the advantage or chance to use the back door system to prove they are much better than last Sundays result, so they must wait until next year.

Cograts to Mullinalaghta, good luck in the Leinster final.
