The late Las O'Toole
The community of Tullow was saddened and shocked by the unexpected death of Las O'Toole Castledermot Road, Tullow following a short illness.
Born in Tullow in 1935, Las moved to England in the 1950s, first to Essex and them settling in Southhampton. It was always his wish to return to Tullow, which he did in the mid 70s with his wife Bridie and 4 children.
On return to Ireland he worked with Phelan builders and CLG.
A good-humoured hard-working man, he loved DIY and keeping busy in the garden, especially in the vegetable plot.
Las had a keen interest in sports especially GAA, horseracing, boxing and soccer. In his younger days he played football with Tullow and Grange, winning a county minor medal with Grange in 1952.
Las was very fond of his 15 grandchildren, he loved telling them stories of his childhood and long ago and played Santa every years at their Christmas party.
He also loved socialising, a few pints, a sing song and a bit of craic.
Las was laid to rest beside his sister Eileen and brother Tom in St Patrick's Cemetery, Tullow.

He will be sadly missed by his heartbroken wife Bridie, daughter Julie, sons John, Barney and Gordon, brother Barney, grandchildren, relatives and friends.
