O'Brien targets promotion

Carlow Manager Turlough O'Brien

Carlow manager Turlough O'Brien has already set out the goals for the county in 2018.

Following an impressive qualifier run that ended after a narrow defeat to Ulster side Monaghan last weekend, O'Brien immediately turned his attention to next year's campaign.

Despite completing his three-year term last weekend, there is no doubt that the Carlow County Board will be keen to keep O'Brien at the helm for another spell.

And judging by his comments to the Carlow Nationalist this week, O'Brien looks keen to remain in the role and continue the good work that he has started.

"We need to get out of Division Four," stressed O'Brien. "The team has given the county a great lift and even though it will not be easy get promotion with the likes of Laois in the division, we have to try and push on from here."
