Randle, Fred

June 13, 2008
The community is saddened at the death of Fred Randle, Tinnahinch, who passed away peacefully at his home on Friday morning following a short illness. A baker by trade he began his career in Portumna before returning to work in O'Leary's Bakery and setting up the Graignamanagh Bread company with his colleagues. An avid GAA person he was deeply involved with the juveniles during their golden period as well as playing and being involved at the committee level during the formulative years of St. Vincent's Club. He was also a founder member of St Michael's Snooker Club and guided their fortunes for many years. For many years also he travelled to Lourdes with the Oblate Pilgrimage and his Trojan work was greatly appreciated by his co-helpers. The remains were removed from Walshe's Funeral Home to Duiske Abbey on Saturday where they were recieved by Fr Gerry Byrne P.P., Fr Sean O'Leary, and Fr Vincent Mulligan, Oblate Fathers. A guard of honour was formed by members of St Michael's, GAA and Lourdes Pilgrimage helpers and the interment at St Michael's Cemetery on Sunday morning. Sincere sympathy is extended to his wife Biddy, sons Denis and Harry, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, nephews, nieces relatives and a large circle of friends.
