Patrick Murray came to Moorefield's rescue with a late equalizer as extra-time failed to separate the Kildare champions and Longford's Dromard in their Leinster club football quarter-final clash for the second week in-a-row at Pearse Park. Moorefield.0-12 Dromard..0-12 Despite having chief marksman Francis McGee sent off early in the second half, Dromard refused to accept defeat against the reigning provincial champions, and so it's back to Newbridge next Sunday for the third instalment of this intriguing saga. In McGee's absence, Jamesie Martin stepped up to the plate for Dromard with two terrific points and from there until the end of normal time, a tremendous battle ensued. Longford goalkeeper Damien Sheridan also converted a '45', but when substitute Michael Tracey put Moorefield in front with four minutes remaining, they looked to have done enough to have finally earned a semi-final date with Tyrrellspass. But Martin tied up the scoring at 0-9 each from a long-range free in injury-time and it was looking good for the Longford champions when they tagged on points from Enda McEntire and Martin and Cian Mimnagh to lead by 0-12 to 0-9 at the halfway stage in extra-time. However, two frees from Murray and another point from Ciaran Kelly ensured that Moorefield lived to fight another day. Tweet
