Fermanagh edge towards appointment

August 23, 2017

The dressingrooms of Devenish St Mary's in Fermanagh were broken into recently.

The deadline for nominations for the Fermanagh senior football manager's job has closed as the committee appointed to find a successor for Pete McGrath focus on the candidates.

Last Monday, saw the deadline close and now the committee will begin the interview process before choosing their preferred candidate to lead the Erne County in 2018.

County secretary Tom Boyle is part of the selection committee and he told the Fermanagh Herald that the stage of the process will begin immediately.

"There has been interest, but I'm not going to be saying exactly who has been proposed at the minute. There will be a meeting of the group set up to appoint the manager and we'll be looking at any proposals that are in and making shortlists and soon.

"We will have to consider all the names submitted and speak to the persons concerned. All candidates will be spoken to and then one candidate will be recommended. We hope to have things completed by September and we'll be issuing statements in due course."
