Jason Ryan looks set to become Wicklow's next senior football manager.

The Irish Independent reports today that the former Kildare and Wexford boss is poised to succeed Johnny Magee after the ex-Dublin footballer stood down from his post in the wake of the Garden County's championship exit to Laois back in June.

Wicklow only won one competitive outing under Magee this season - a National League tie against London - and it now looks as though they have their managerial replacement with Ryan's appointment expected soon.

Prior to taking on the Lilywhites job in 2014, the Waterford native steered Wexford to an All-Ireland semi-final in 2008, when the Slayneysiders lost out to eventual champions Tyrone, and to a second Leinster final appearance under his rule in 2011.
