Lee Chin says Waterford are an inspiration to other counties, including Wexford.

The Deise will go in search of their first All-Ireland SHC title in 58 years against Galway in a fortnight's time and in his new Irish Daily Star column, the joint-Wexford captain writes: "Waterford's win over Cork last Sunday has had an impact outside of their county borders.

"Now we're getting ready for an All-Ireland final between the Deise and Galway. Waterford, with no All-Ireland since 1959 and Galway, with none since 1988.

"That gives hope to counties like my own, and to many others. It's particularly the case because Waterford have got there.

"Galway have been in a few finals without getting over the line. But Waterford had a lot of heartache in semi-finals. To see them there will inspire other counties. They'll be thinking 'if Waterford can do it, why can't we?'

"Waterford are our neighbours. We played them in the quarter-finals and it was tight. They won by just four points. They've developed their system over the past number of years. It's proven to work for them and it's all to play for now."
