Waterford talisman Kevin Moran admitted that they will enjoy the build up to the All-Ireland final, but also stressed there was a lot of work to be done in the next few weeks.

The Munster side will take on Galway in a novel All-Ireland SHC final following their impressive win over Cork in the semi-final last Sunday afternoon.

Moran lined out in their last All-Ireland final appearance nine years ago and he is one of a few players in the squad that have the experience of playing in such a game.

"I'm really looking forward to the occasion. We've worked hard in the last number of weeks and the last number of months and for it to come to fruition like it has in the last fifteen minutes," Moran told the Waterford News & Star.

"We're over the moon. Obviously, we are a little disappointed for Conor (Gleeson) and the whole situation there. Look, we'll leave that up to Derek and the guys to see what happens. You can't beat winning matches like that out there. It's what you put all the work in for.

"In Derek's term, we always wanted to get to the top. We've taken a step over the last number of years and we've gone a step further this year."
