What they said ... the weekend in quotes

"A mixture of elation, relief and anticipation of what's to come at this stage. All those emotions, joy, ecstasy, it was everything to us. Very, very satisfying."

Derek McGrath has guided Waterford to a Liam MacCarthy Cup final showdown with Galway.

"Firstly I'd like to say that the better team won on the day. That has to be acknowledged. We were ahead and then they got away from us so I wouldn't like to dwell on the red cards. We didn't do ourselves justice in some departments, though progress has been made this year."

McGrath's Cork counterpart Kieran Kingston was magnanimous in defeat.

"For a period of time in second half we were two points up and the game got away from us so we wouldn't like to focus on the red cards per say. The better team won on the day."

Cork selector Pat Harnett echoed Kingston's sentiments.

"During the week we were told that Tadhg wouldn't be playing, and that was a big incentive for us to get over the line."

Tadhg de Búrca's suspension was a major source of motivation for Jamie Barron and his Deise team-mates.

"He pulls the helmet off Luke Meade. How Ozzie Gleeson gets involved in these incidents just beats me. With all the controversies there was about Tadhg de Búrca..."

Austin Gleeson faces an anxious wait to find out if he will face disciplinary action and Sunday Game pundit Ger Loughnane was left puzzled by his actions.

"It's disappointing for Waterford to be facing into this but it's conclusive for me."

Mount Sion's Gleeson will be lucky if he's able to line out against the Tribesmen, according to Eddie Brennan on last night's Sunday Game.

"If you wanted to give Austin Gleeson some ray of hope, Tuohy got away with his pull on the headguard of 'Bonner' Maher on the basis that he wasn't looking. That will be the argument that Austin will put in."

Brendan Cummins believes the case of Galway's Adrian Tuohy could work in the Hurler of the Year's favour.

"He's distraught, absolutely distraught, we have said we'll do what we have to do to get him back."

Deise selector Dan Shanahan says they will leave no stone unturned in their bid to have Conor Gleeson's red card rescinded.

"Lee trained, modified, but will train fully this week."

Mayo manager Stephen Rochford delivered a postive update on Footballer of the Year Lee Keegan's fitness ahead of next Sunday's All-Ireland SFC semi-final against Kerry.
