Sky is the limit - Brennan

Eddie Brennan fears that the GAA's ongoing partnership with Sky Sports is limiting fans' chances of seeing the biggest games.
Sky Sports have been broadcasting gaelic games since 2014 and their current deal runs until 2021. They had exclusive rights to Saturday's Waterford-Kilkenny SH qualifier and will also broadcast both this weekend's SF 3B qualifiers as well as both 4A football qualifiers the following weekend. Former Cats ace Brennan is alarmed:
"I have Sky Sports myself. I didn't go to the match and I watched it on Sky but, for me, when you look at what it is, it's disappointing," the Black & Amber U21 boss is quoted in The Irish Daily Mirror.
"We are on a slippery slope. When you look at the boxing and everything else that Sky Sports televise, are we going to lean towards pay-per-view?
"Technically speaking, it is because you are paying for the right to watch our national game. The point has to be that we often talk about grassroots and growing the GAA and, if we are going to restrict people from watching our national sport, that's an issue."
