Michael Duignan is adamant that Brian Cody should not be punished for appearing to push linesman Justin Heffernan during Kilkenny's defeat to Waterford on Saturday night.
The long-serving Kilkenny manager could face a charge of 'minor phyiscal interference' - an offence which carries a 12-week suspension and has been imposed on Dublin's Diarmuid Connolly earlier this summer following an incident involving linesman Ciaran Brannigan.
"There's nothing in it," said Duignan on The Sunday Game.
"There was no aggression [towards the official], no malice. His malice was to Derek McGrath. I think it's crazy if there is a suspension out of that."
Fellow panellist Anthony Daly said: "We saw the episode with Diarmuid [Connolly] a few weeks ago and he did put his hands on the fourth official. The fourth official is becoming a way more prominent role now. Brian did put his hands on him, who decides after that, I don't know."
