Galway midfielder Johnny Coen believes that their NHL success is a huge confidence booster ahead of the Leinster SHC.
The Tribesmen now have exactly a month to prepare for the provincial opener against Dublin on May 28th and what better way to go into that game then as league champions.
Tipperary were put to the sword in emphatic style last Sunday and Coen stated to the Connacht Tribune winning any silverware is good for the current crop.
"It will do a lot for our confidence. This team hasn't won much, so it's a big boost to win a national title," said Coen.
"It was a true test of our character against Waterford and the manner in which we beat that day gave us belief. We have driven on from there although Tipperary obviously weren't at their best."
