Mayo defender Paddy Durcan admits that there is a lot of talent coming through the ranks at the moment.
The Castlebar Mitchels clubman and Mayo Footballer of the Year believes that the competition for places has increased considerably this year.
And he is confident that with a bit of luck this year, they can go all the way and lift Sam Maguire next September.
"There's serious competition coming through after the All-Ireland under-21 win. Those lads are going to be integrated and it's going to make us stronger," Durcan told the Western People.
"The more competition we can have the better, and it will leave us with a better chance of being lucky in September.
"There's really experienced lads there and I'm trying to learn all the time. The lads are very good like that, Andy (Moran), Keith (Higgins), any of them; they've been very good in helping to integrate the younger lads in the panel."
He concluded: "We're fully focused on the work for the next nine or ten months and I'm looking forward to it. I've enjoyed it so far and I'll just try and keep my head down and stay focused."
