O'Reilly takes Cavan Gaels post

Cavan Gaels have appointed former county forward Jason O'Reilly as their new senior manager for 2017.

The Belturbet clubman's appointment was confirmed at a meeting last week and sees him take over from former Breffni team mate Anthony Forde, whom he won an Ulster SFC title with back in 1997.

O'Reilly, who steered Lacken to an intermediate title in 2012, oversaw Belturbet's promotion to Division One this past season and takes over a Gaels side which will be eager to make up for their disappointments in 2016, having exited the senior championship prior to its knock-out stages.

Elsewhere, Forde has linked up with former Cavan manager Donal Keogan to oversee Castlerahan's fortunes next season, while intermediate contenders Butlersbridge will be under the rule of ex-Leitrim footballer George Dugdale.
