Celbridge duo scoop top Kildare awards

Celbridge pair Fergal Conway and Gerry Keegan have been crowned Kildare Senior Footballer and Hurler of the Year respectively.

Also at last night's awards ceremony, Sarsfields' Ben McCormack was named Senior Club Footballer of the Year and Patrick Curtin of Celbridge as Senior Club Hurler of the Year.

Two Mile House's Chris Healy was named Intermediate Footballer of the Year and Tadhg Forde of Maynooth as Intermediate Hurler of the Year. The Junior Football winner was Darren Barker of Kilcullen, while Sallins' TJ Gordan scooped the Junior Hurling accolade.

Paul Moran of Leixlip received the Handballer of the Year award, while a special presentation was made to well-known adminstrator Kathleen O'Neill for her 17 years of service to the county board.
