Roscommon GAA is mourning the passing of its president Frank Dennehy.
The former county secretary made a huge contribution not only to Roscommon GAA but to his club Kilmore who were crowned county intermediate champions on Saturday, just hours before Frank's passing. Also club president, Frank managed Kilmore to minor, intermediate and senior championships in 1979, '81 and '83 respectively, and was a former club secretary and PRO.
He will be laid to rest in Elphin tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Kilmore are due to release a statement today expressing their dissatisfaction at having to play two games in less than 24 hours over the weekend. After needing extra-time to overcame Oran in their Roscommon IFC final replay on Saturday, they were forced to play again in the Connacht club IFC yesterday at Tuam Stadium where they suffered a 0-9 to 1-16 defeat to Galway champions Monivea-Abbeyknockmoy.
