Dublin GAA's plans to build a 25,000-capacity stadium in the south of the county have been revived after negotiations recommenced regarding the purchase of the Spawell Complex in Templeogue.

It's over a year since the Dublin county board was outbid for the 35-acre site after NAMA refused their offer, which was believed to be in the region of €8.5 million. However, the Irish Independent is reporting that the board is now in negotiations with the Davy-managed investment fund which outbid them in June 2015 to purchase the property.

If the sale goes through, Dublin would aim to follow through on their 2011 strategic plan of building a new stadium just off the M50. The proposed stadium would host Allianz League games and serve as a base for GAA activity on the southside of the city.
