St. Vincents advance to the Dublin SFC semi-finals after a 1-14 to 2-8 win over Lucan Sarsfields at Parnell Park tonight.

A Ruari Trainor goal just after the fifteen minute mark which came from a rebound of a penalty was all that separated the teams at half-time as the Vincents went in two points ahead on a scoreline of 1-5 to 0-6.

The traditional kingpins added to their lead early in the second half with points from Nathan Mullins, Shane Carthy, Joe Feeney and Trainor putting them ahead by six. However Lucan replied with a goal of their own from the penalty spot (Brendan Gallagher) bringing the game back into the melting pot.

St. Vincents looked to pull away once again with three quick scores but another Sarsfields goal from substitute Andrew Hope put the minimum between the sides.

Lucan missed an opportunity to level it up which spurred Vinnies on to score two late points, one of which coming from county star Diarmuid Connolly.

They fill the last remaining semi-final spot, joining Castleknock, St. Judes and Ballymun Kickhams in the final four.
