The Connacht Council has granted Mayo an extra week to complete their senior football championship.

The race for the Moclair Cup has been delayed by Mayo's involvement in the recent drawn and replayed All-Ireland finals, and had led to fears that the county wouldn't be represented in the Connacht club SFC. But those fears have been allayed by the decision to push back the Mayo champions' provincial quarter-final against Sligo kingpins Tourlestrane in Markievicz Park by six days from Sunday, October 30 to Saturday, November 5.

It leaves Mayo will three weekends to run off their SFC quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. The last eight-line was only completed on Saturday and the quarter-final pairings are as follows: Ballintubber v Garrymore; Knockmore v Aghamore; Castlebar Mitchels v Ballaghaderreen; Breaffy v Crossmolina.
