Ronan Sweeney and Enda Murphy have been confirmed as Kildare's new football selectors.

The former county stars will work alongside manager Cian O'Neill in 2017. They replace Brian Flanagan, Brian Murphy and Padraig Brennan who stepped down after this year's campaign. Sweeney, who remains an integral part of the Moorefield team which is preparing for a Kildare SFC final date with local rivals Sarsfields, was previously part of Niall Carew's management team in Sligo, while ex-goalkeeper Murphy was in charge of Westmeath club side Castledaly up until recently.

Meanwhile, the Kildare Nationalist is reporting that Mick O'Grady, Eoghan Bateman, Brian Byrne, Mark Hyland, Luke Flynn and David Slattery will join Cian O'Neill's panel in the new season.
