Ross King sent over a stoppage time point as Rathdowney-Errill denied outsiders Borris-in-Ossory/Kilcotton a first ever Laois SHC success at O'Moore Park today.
The two teams must meet again after they played out an entertaining draw which finished 2-26 apiece.
The Ken Hogan coached Borris-in-Ossory/Kilcotton looked to have one hand on the cup when points from PJ Scully and Neil Foyle edged them ahead with the finishing line in sight but two points from King threw the Brian Young managed Rathdowney-Errill a lifeline.
The first-half finished Borris-in-Ossory/Kilcotton 1-17, Rathdowney-Errill 2-14.
Neil Foyle bagged a brace for Borris-in-Ossory/Kilcotton while Liam O'Connell did likewise for Rathdowney-Errill.
