Ballyhale and Rower-Inistioge are the first teams through to the Kilkenny SHC semi-finals.

In Thomastown, the big guns were on form as former All-Ireland champions Ballyhale cruised to a 3-20 to 1-11 victory over Mullinavat. The Reid brothers, TJ and Eoin, and Brian Cody (not to be mistaken with the Kilkenny manager!) found the net in the first half to help the Shamrocks to a 3-10 to 0-5 interval lead. Henry Shefflin was also on the scoresheet as John Walsh nabbed a late consolation goal for Mullinavat.

In this afternoon's other quarter-final in Bennettsbridge, St. Kilda-bound Darragh Joyce grabbed 1-6 (1-0 penalty, 0-6 frees) as Rower-Inistioge powered to a 2-19 to 0-12 victory over St. Martin's. The return of Sean Cummins at full back was also a factor in Rower's big winning margin.
