A week on from his All-Ireland SFC final replay nightmare, Rob Hennelly kept a clean sheet as Breaffy saw off Davitts to progress to the Mayo SFC quarter-finals.

The Mayo goalkeeper produced an outstanding double save in the 34th minute of Breaffy's 2-11 to 0-11 win, which was their third in Group 1. Kevin Curry and Peter Dravins were the Breaffy goal-scorers. Garrymore also qualify from Group 1 after their 2-13 to 3-10 draw with Claremorris.

Cillian O'Connor was among the Ballintubber scorers as they overcame Aghamore by 2-10 to 0-8 in Group 2 to reach the last eight. Despite the result, Aghamore are also through to the quarter-finals. The other Group 2 tie resulted in a one-point win for Charlestown over Hollymount-Carramore (1-13 to 2-9).

Champions Castlebar Mitchels and Crossmolina accounted for Ballina and Ballinrobe by 1-15 to 0-11 and 4-16 to 2-7 respectively to qualify from Group 3.

In Group 4, Andy Moran's two goals couldn't save Ballaghaderreen from a 2-7 to 1-12 defeat to Knockmore. However, Ballagh' still advance along with Knockmore to the quarter-finals with the other game in the group having ended in a 2-10 to 0-9 victory for Kiltane over Keith Higgins' Ballyhaunis.
