The Roscommon County Board has appointed a committee to select a new senior football manager.

Following Fergal O'Donnell's decision to step down as joint-manager of the side alongside Kevin McStay, the county board are following protocol by going through the process of appointing a manager.

McStay has let his name go forward to take the reins himself, but he is expected to face some opposition with former Roscommon footballer and under-21 manager Nigel Dineen being rumoured to be in the running.

The committee selected includes County Board chairman Seamus Sweeney, County Board secretary Brian Carroll, former Head of the Workplace Relations Committee Kieran Mulvey, former senior football manager Martin McDermott and Ex-Roscommon footballer Paul Hickey.

Interviews for the position are due to begin next week.
