Having being reappointed as Waterford senior football manager for another year, Tom McGlinchey is already making plans for the 2017 campaign.

Having taken time to mull over whether or not to let his name go forward for the role, McGlinchey is now 100% committed to the job.

And he admitted to the Waterford News & Star that he is looking forward to assembling a squad for next year.

"We'll be assessing players over the next few weeks, we'll be looking at the club scene closely," said McGlinchey.

"We're going to broaden our horizons and look at intermediate and junior games and see is there any golden nugget out there that we haven't come across before.

"I spoke to all the members of last year's backroom team and as it stands everyone that was involved last year is hopeful to be back on board including Ephie Fitzgerald which is great and I know that the players are delighted that he's committing for another year."
