Tyrone captain Sean Cavanagh says he's likely to have made a decision on his future before the end of the month.

Talk of retirement from inter-county football has surrounded the five-time All Star since the Red Hands' All-Ireland SFC quarter-final defeat to Mayo last month.

His club Moy have also made their exit from the club championship and Cavanagh admitted that it has sped up the process.

"It was disappointing with the club. It will be a case now of the next couple of weeks probably, having a few chats and deciding what to do," Cavanagh told the Irish Examiner.

"I'll have a chat with the medical team, with Mickey (Harte) and with my own family, and whatever else, and see what's right. But it will probably come a bit sooner rather than later now because of the effects of the club championship ending so early."
