Morgan's support for Harte

Niall Morgan has urged Tyrone County Board to grant Mickey Harte a contract extension "straight away".

Three-times All-Ireland winner Harte has been at the Red Hands helm since 2002 but it emerged last week that the County Board has declined his request to extend his current term in charge by one more year, until 2018:

Goalkeeper Morgan says Harte is "the full package" and should be accommodated: "They need to give Mickey an extra year, straight away, say that what happened was a mishap and move on because it's not nice for the players," the Edendork clubman told The Irish News.

"We're talking about it, the County Board is obviously talking about it, people within the county are talking about it - and it just creates a level of uncertainty around everything, which is no good for anybody.

"To me, what the refusal of an extension said is the County Board don't think Mickey's going to do well next year. It's a weird situation."
