The Adam Mangan Memorial Cup and Shield will be presented for the first time today to the winners of the country's main inter-county U15 football tournament which is being hosted by Offaly.
Adam, who was tragically killed in a farm accident last October, was a rising star of Offaly football and also played U18 rugby for Ireland. The Kilclonfert youngster was a county minor in 2013 and '14 and was expected to make the step-up to Pat Flanagan's senior squad this year.
It has been agreed to name the tournament, which was also hosted by the Faithful County last year, in his honour. The counties competing for the Adam Mangan Memorial Cup are: Tyrone, Kildare, Meath, Sligo, Cork, Dublin, Louth, Laois, Offaly, Clare, Longford, Down, Roscommon, Westmeath, Carlow and Limerick.
The Adam Mangan Memorial Shield will feature teams from Waterford, Laois, Meath, Tyrone, Westmeath, Wexford North, Cork, Wicklow, Roscommon, Dublin, Wexford South and Louth.
