Wexford CCCC investigate game that never took place

The dreaded red card

The Wexford CCCC are continuing their investigation into a referee's match report for a game that never took place!

Clongeen and Ballyhogue were due to meet in a Division 5B league game, but the former were unable to field a team.

The punishment for failing to field would that the match would go down as a walkover for the opposition and a fine imposed on Clongeen.

However, despite no game going ahead, the match referee is alleged to have supplied a full report relating to the game.

The Wexford CCCC have already met to discuss the matter and they are now set to meet again where representatives from both clubs as well as the match referee have summoned to attend.

A strange scenario indeed that could be unprecedented in the GAA, although given the mindset of some of the GAA fraternity, anything is possible!!
