Ciaran McKeever won't be rushed into making a decision about his Armagh future after his latest injury setback.

The veteran defender broke a bone in his foot while training with his club St. Oliver Plunkett's/Eoghan Ruadh in Dublin recently. And unless Armagh have an extended championship run - starting with tomorrow's All-Ireland SFC qualifier refixture against Laois - he is unlikely to feature for them again this year.

The 33-year-old, who has had knee surgery already this year, told the Irish News: "I love pulling on that Armagh jersey. I'm not going to make any rash decisions.

"Mentally, it takes a lot out of you coming back from each injury, so I'll just take my time with this one. I'll have a chat with the management team and see where I go from here."

He added: "That's two operations in the one year and I'll be out of work for roughly six weeks each time.

"That's something I really have to look at because I can't afford to be out of work for that length of time. I work for Joe Duffy Motors in Dublin and they've been great with me. They understand the commitment required at inter-county level, so I'm very appreciative to them."
