Westmeath captain Ger Egan feels that if they are to have any chance against Dublin in the Leinster SFC final, they must believe.

The Lake County have reached their second consecutive provincial decider where they will once again face an all-conquering Dublin side.

However, Westmeath will once again be massive underdogs against the defending champions.

Egan told the Westmeath Examiner that they hope to have learned from their meeting with the Dubs last year.

"We will be looking at the final in three weeks' time as to whether we can improve on last year. If we do, we are going in the right direction. We'll come up with a plan against Dublin and go about it as best we can.

"The first thing we have to do is believe. We have the experience of being there and we're going to expect more of ourselves this time around. You never know on a given day what might happen."
