Fermanagh defender Ryan McCluskey will play no more part in this summer's championship.

McCluskey was an absentee as the Ernemen travelled to Wexford Park to record a fine Qualifier victory over the Model County last weekend and will also be unavailable for Saturday week's clash with Mayo in Castlebar.

Manager Pete McGrath confirmed to The Irish Daily Star that the experienced Enniskillen Gaels clubman underwent surgery last week to fix a chronic hip flexor problem, noting that "even if we were to be in the final in September, Ryan still woudn't be in a position to play a part.

McCluskey took to Twitter five days ago to reveal that the operation was behind him.
