Laois have held their hands up and accepted responsibility for the substitute controversy which has thrown Armagh a championship lifeline.

The powers-that-be in the O'Moore County didn't object to the Central Competition Controls Committee's ruling that the game must be replayed.

Laois chairman Gerry Kavanagh told the Irish Independent that they only have themselves to blame for the 'sorry mess'.

"We're disappointed but it's our own making," he admitted.

"We were the cause of the infraction and must take our medicine, move on and put this sorry mess behind us."
