Cork forward Kevin O'Driscoll is determined to retain his place in the side, despite the competition in the squad.
Thirty five players were used during the NFL campaign and with a lot of the newcomers impressing, competition for places is rife.
O'Driscoll made his championship debut last year having been on the squad since 2011 and he knows more than most what it takes to make the breakthrough.
"I know myself how difficult it is just to break into the squad, as I got a lot of game time in the league over the past few seasons, and I had to wait until last year to get a championship spot," O'Driscoll told the Southern Star.
"I was delighted to finally make the breakthrough, and hopefully I can drive on from here."
Cork face Tipperary in the Munster SFC semi-final at Semple Stadium, Thurles on Sunday at 3.30pm.
