The latest twist in the Christy Ring Cup final saga has seen the date of its replay changed upon request.
Following a second meeting in two days of the Central Competitions Control Committee this morning, Meath and Antrim will now meet on June 25th to decide which county will be competing in the All-Ireland senior hurling championship next year.
The replay had originally been scheduled for this Saturday evening in Newry but following a proposal from the Meath county board the match has been moved forward to Saturday fortnight at Croke Park, where it is set to act as a standalone fixture.
The GAA released the following statement via its website this afternoon:
"The Central Competitions Control Committee met this morning to consider a formal request from the Meath County Committee for a postponement of the Christy Ring Cup Final Replay between Meath and Antrim scheduled for this Saturday evening, June 11th.
"Given the unique circumstances involved, the C.C.C.C. agreed to postpone the game. It will now take place on Saturday, June 25th in Croke Park at 5pm."
