The Cork footballers have been plagued by inconsistency in recent years and that's something that star forward Colm O'Neill hopes they can address in the coming months.

The Rebels will make their Munster SFC bow against Tipperary in Semple Stadium on Sunday and O'Neill says past experiences have taught them that they can't afford to take any opposition for granted.

"I think it has a lot to do with each player's individual attitude," he told The Irish Times.

"If you are not at that level. Not 100 per cent focused. Maybe we took Roscommon [in the league] a little bit for granted and maybe the same happened against Kildare last year.

"Maybe we didn't take them . . . look it, that's up to each individual.

"We have to remind ourselves of that ahead of the Munster championship. It's about getting the head right."
