Keith Higgins finally got a taste of what it's like to win major silverware at Croke Park today when he helped the Mayo hurlers to their first Nicky Rackard Cup.
The dual star lined out at centre back as JP Coen's men defeated Armagh on a 2-16 to 1-15 scoreline to claim their place in the Christy Ring Cup next season. It was a long overdue success for Higgins at GAA headquarters after losing All-Ireland finals with the footballers in 2006, 2012 and 2013.
Who knows, this victory could be the spur for the footballers to finally land Sam later this year.
