Jamie Clarke has released a statement clarifying that it was entirely his decision not to play for Armagh this year.
In the statement issued via the Armagh GAA twitter account, the Crossmaglen attacker says his decision to step away from the set-up has "absolutely nothing to do with Kieran McGeeney being the manager", and that he has "nothing but respect and appreciation" for the 2002 All-Ireland winning captain, who came in for scathing criticism from RTE pundit Joe Brolly after last Sunday's Ulster SFC quarter-final loss to Cavan.
