Stephen Rochford admits Mayo will need to brush up on their finishing ahead of the Connacht SFC semi-final against Galway in three weeks' time.

Despite racking up 15 wides, the Westerners cruised to a 2-16 to 0-9 victory over London at Ruislip yesterday, with Evan Regan hitting 0-7 on his championship debut.

"In any championship game when you come out with a win you can look at it as job done," the Mayo manager is quoted in the Irish Daily Star.

"We took the game quite serious and at times I thought that we played well. Our execution though was nowhere near where we expected it to be and nowhere it will be needed further on.

"We still racked up 18 scores - some of them were difficult chances. Maybe the decision to take on the shot, we should have been a little bit smart about. But we missed one or two easy ones.

"It's the first round of the championship, there is always going to be things to work on."

Mayo will remain in London this week for a pre-arranged training camp.
