Tyrone and Derry on parade before their Ulster SFC clash at Celtic Park.

Joe Brolly sure knows how to grab people's attention.

His tongue firmly in cheek, the RTE pundit has written the Derry football team's death notice in today's Sunday Independent in the wake of their heavy Ulster SFC quarter-final loss to arch rivals Tyrone last Sunday.

It reads: "County Derry Senior Gaelic Football Team. Passed away without fuss, May 22 2016 at her home in Celtic Park, surrounded by her loving family, after a long illness. Deeply regretted by her entire family circle, especially the physios, GPA reps, backroom team, sports psychologists, statistics men and video analysts.

"Derry's remains taken at 2pm, from Celtic Park, followed by cremation at 4pm. Lone Moore Road funeral parlour, Derry City. St Padre Pio pray for her. St Jude pray for her.

"No flowers please. Donations in lieu to: Desmond Farrell c/o Gaelic Players' Association, 27 Northwood House, Northwood Business Campus, Santry, Dublin 9.

"Ar dheis De go raibh a h-amam uasal."
