2012 All-Ireland MHC winning captain Bill Maher will make his Munster SFC bow for Tipperary against Waterford in Sunday's quarter-final at Fraher Field, Dungarvan.

Manager Liam Kearns has selected the Kilsheelan Kilcash dual-star at right half-back, while his fellow 2015 Munster U21FC medallist Josh Keane is also set for his debut at right half-forward.

The Premier County are down 11 of the 21 players that featured in the 22-point defeat of the Deise at the same stage last May with Paddy Codd, Steven O'Brien and Colin O'Riordan among those who have departed the panel.

Peter Acheson assumes captaincy from the unavailable Codd as Kearns prepares for his first championship game at the helm having taken over the reins from Peter Creedon who stepped down after last year's qualifier defeat to Tyrone.
