Armagh boss Kieran McGeeney has been handed a welcome boost with the news that key defender James Morgan looks set to be available for his side's Ulster SFC quarter-final against Cavan.

The Crossmaglen clubman had been side-lined with a wrist injury, which he was set to have surgery on, but has recovered and played back-to-back games last weekend for both club and county.

Last Friday night saw him line-out at corner-back as the Ulster club champions beat Wolfe Tones in the senior league and the following day he made his return for the Orchard men as they overcame Derry by 2-18 to 0-14 in a challenge match.

It is welcome news for McGeeney, who will be without Kevin Dyas, Jamie Clarke and Caolan Rafferty for the provincial showdown at Kingspan Breffni Park on May 29th.
