Antrim's Kevin Niblock hopes Saturday's Allianz FL Division 4 final against Louth will act as a stepping stone to bigger and better things in the future.

"Getting out of Division Four was the most important thing," he pointed out to The Irish News.

"Things are very positive, but I think in terms of the group and age profile it's more important to get into good habits.

"And not taking away from any of the sides in Division Four - we knew we were capable of getting out and we have wanted to get out.

"It's the top two teams playing each other. We finished on top and we want to show that we are top of that division."

Niblock agreed that the Wee County will provide the Saffrons with a stern test ahead of the Ulster SFC clash with Fermanagh next month.

"It's a good competitive game and obviously we want to come out with a bit of silverware - something to show for this stage of the year and it would be a nice lead into the summer.

"Louth will not fear us. In my experience over the years - any time we've played Louth - I'm sure they've beat us more times than we've beat them, so they'll have had a good look at us there a few weeks ago in our home match.

"And I think they'll go in quietly confident that they can beat us but I think it will be a close game, and I do think whatever team plays to their potential on the night will come out with the win."
