Nothing bar promotion will satisfy Limerick manager TJ Ryan as the NHL Division 1B league campaign begins this weekend.
Limerick open their account with a home match against Wexford on Saturday evening and Ryan has stressed the importance of getting off to a winning start.
This will be Limerick's sixth consecutive season in the second tier of the league and Ryan believes that anything less than promotion will be seen as a failure.
Speaking to the Limerick Leader he said: "February 13th has been on our minds for a long time and Saturday is a game that we just have to win.
"January went quite well, although we would be a little disappointed to lose the Munster League final to Clare. We had a lot of work done and physically and from a hurling point of view I think we are in a good place."
